Bred-Ensemble Ocean Forecast of Loop Current and Rings

This study examines the use of the breeding method to generate ensembles for ocean forecasting, specifically focusing on the Loop Current and associated rings during Hurricane Katrina. The bred-ensemble approach shows skill in capturing the non-linear growth of instabilities in the Gulf of Mexico.
